Rain Barrel sale   Saturday, April 26    Weber Park

 

What can you do with these barrels?

•      Capture rain and save on water bills;
•      Feed your plants rain water instead of chlorine;
•      Take better care of the environment AND sewer systems;
•      Support our neighbourhood’s very own Community Garden!

Each 180 – 220 L (45 – 55 gallon) rain barrel comes fully equipped with a leaf and mosquito filter basket, overflow adaptor that permits multiple barrels to be connected in series, 1.2m of overflow hose, and a spigot that attaches directly to a garden hose.

All rain barrels are sold for $50 each and must be reserved in advance of the sale.

Reserve your rain barrel now! Pick up Apr. 26 between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m.

Our neighbours in the Auditorium Neighbourhood Association have been successfully running this program for a number of years. So we’ve decided to bring it to Weber Park this spring.

Here’s all the exciting details about Soccer for Kids

Who:

• Kids 2 – 10 years old split into 3 groups
  • Pre-school (ages 2 & 3) fun with balls – with a participating adult
  • 4 – 6 years old (split into 2 teams weekly)
  • 7 – 10 years old (split into 2 teams weekly)
• Must live in the CFNA (We will consider other kids if space is available.)
• Maximum 80 kids
• Parents/youth interested in coaching/drills/running a game

When:

• Monday nights 6:30 – 7:30
• May 5 – June 23
• Party/Tournament day – TBD

Equipment Needed:

• Bring your own soccer ball (optional)
  • We’ll offer some for sale! Watch for details.
• No soccer shoes required
• Four road hockey nets
  • Can you bring  one each week or allow to yours be stored in the shed while the program runs?
• Field about 15 x 30 defined by pylons every 5 m.
• Pinneys or t-shirts to indicate teams

Registration:

• $5/kid – $10 for two or more kids in the same family
• Registration opens April 7
  • We’ll share how to register before then.
